« on: March 14, 2011, 12:31:48 PM »
Just done my oil change, glad i did, it was brown and horrible and when the filter came off, really full of metallic bits.

Nice new oil until ~ 500 miles

I used Power1 semi synthetic which is pink.

Judging by the colour the original is the same oil, but it is now very brown with a pink edge to it

Here is a pic, but not sure it gives much away

How's the oil filter fitted? Two turns after contact?

Another question. Does performing services on your own affect warranty in the UK ? If one saves the receipts from the oil and filter, are you still good ?

1/4 turn needed to break seal, then it just comes off by hand. Very easy. Sump plug on mine is not as the manual shows. Manual shows a hex nut, mine needs an 8mm Allen key. So, you'll need a set of hex heads for your torque wrench.

Brought the bits from the dealer

I was asking more about installing the new filter. I'm guessing the required turns/torque is written on the new filter but I'm still waiting on the bike and bored   :164:
