The MT07 will be a great bike and the road testers in the mags will rave about it as they did about the Bandit and Fazer.
The only problem with these budget bikes is they lack soul, I know I owned both.
Get something fun and different like a Ducati Monster or a Harley Sportster.

Instead of a street triple too?! I've never heard a Triumph owner recommend a Harley Davidson!

Harley's are great fun so long as you have a real bike too. Wouldn't have one as my only bike.

Street Triple would be a nice stable mate to have.

Get a Harley if you like riding a buffalo with a saddle.

Haha! I'm assuming you're not a Harley fan then?

In Gina try and get a test ride today on a sportster and street triple.

Why would someone choose a Monster over a street triple???

I have a monster 600 alongside my street triple. The monster s just so different from the smooth triple, its very agricultural in comparison but the torque and engine braking is immense.  Lots of fun.

Tiger 800 Roadie for my daily commute. 150km's each day in traffic and highway conditions in all weather. Nothing better for the daily battle with the traffic.

Moto Guzzi Norge 8V as a long distance weekend rider, I don't think twice to ride the goose 800 to 1000km's on a weekend.

Both bikes are very different to ride but both put a huge grin on the face when riding.

A wise person once told me the ideal number of bikes one can own is what you currently have +1.

Absolutely agree... got a Sportster 1200 myself.. great fun and tons of character.. cool in Europe as well.. forget the UK view of Harleys... and yep me n the missus share a Monster 696 which is a hoot.. just think about turning in and its there and that glorious L twin.. however heres what to do.. go and test ride the new 1200s monster.... its gobsmacking good motor....and the brakes... ooooo mah god they are best brakes ever! KTM 690 also a blast and even the Hypermotard 821 if you are at least 6 foot...
There's someone in my head but its not me..?

So far, I've considered the Thruxton, and yesterday I test rode the new Yamaha MT-07.

I'd rather go for the MT-09 or is that too much triple ?
Life is too short to drink bad wine or to ride bad bikes.

I want something totally different from the "fetus" position I ride in now-Just to get a different feel.    I would consider - in no particular order:

-Moto Guzzi California
-Victory Cross Country
-Kawasaki Vulcan (Nomad or Classic)
-BMW GTL (way too much $)
-Triumph Rocket Roadster
-Triumph TB Commander
-Royal Endfield
Big Country
