Charging points
« on: May 05, 2014, 11:03:18 AM »
Does anyone do a lead that fits the iPhone 5 and the 12 volt auxiliary charging points on the bike? I've never used the aux charging points for anything before, and just wondered. Also if I buy a sat nav or heated clothing, are the plugs/leads a standard size that will fit the bike? Forgive my ignorance as I've only had the tiger a few months and never needed to use them!

Cheers, Jon

To charge anything on a bike I use one of these. It's called a Hella Din USB plug (forget that it says BMW as it can be used on many bikes). The Tiger 800 has an auxiliary socket that is not like a car cigarette charger, which tend to be fatter. The socket looks a lot thinner and is designed for the DIN plug. This one has two USB sockets so you can recharge what you want:
Just type in this number on ebay search:

Morning all,
I've just found this post through the search function, very helpful, i do however have a question.
I resently bought one of those solar panels which you place in you car windscreen and plug in to the cigarette light to trickle charge your battery.
If i buy a Din plug with a female cigarette type socket on the other end can i plug it in to maintain the battery.

The solar panel will charge all batteries up to 100ah.
