Idling issue that is not the stepper motor
« on: January 27, 2016, 05:06:38 PM »
At least I don't think it is.    I'd appreciate any suggestions.   The bike will either start and run fine or it won't start without loads of throttle and won't idle.   If I turn it off, count to 20 and turn it on again then it will start and run fine again (most of the time, some times it takes a couple of reboots).  It makes no difference if the engine is hot or cold, it started happenig at around 7k miles, bike is a 2014 XC.

Throttle position sensor?

I have a feeling Greg's used to do this a couple of years back & his dealer replaced the TPS. (He may chime-in here to confirm that)

Yes, probably the TPS.

A friend of mine had same issue.

Thank you all.   I had a smug git on a GS800 next to me saying "Well, that's why I don't trust Triumph".  I could have crushed a grape.

The two, Triumph and BMW, are excelent motorcycles. Don't exist the better one.

The fanaticism on unique is unintelligent.
