Worn out and broken after one year (7500 miles)

Hi. I purchased the hugger from you last August and had it fitted by the dealer to my new Tiger800XR before collection. I bought this one because  your website said it was compatible with Triumph panniers and my bike had the adventure pannier system fitted.

The two pics attached show how this has stood the test of time. The pic of the hugger still fitted shows how it has worn through - presumably by contact with the cable guide that is part of the pannier support system. The other picture shows how the material has split. Bear in mind that the bike has never been ridden two up and panniers have only very occasionally been fitted (say about 1000 of teh bikes 7500 miles).

Is this sort of wear and damage to be expected in that mileage or am I right to be feeling pretty miffed? This looks like the worst value 95 I have invested in the bike. I'd be interested to know what Powerbronze think.

Bougjt a pyramid hugger for mine and it was trashed within a couple of months. Fixing points cracked and scuffed from battery box bumpy road combo... hugger is now in the bin . Didnt do its job anyway
when you sit on a sports bike you feel special...when you sit on an adventure bike you feel something special is going to happen!!

    Hi Richard.
Thanks for that. I'm out of the country on holiday until mid September. I'll call you then if that's OK

    Hi Paul,

Your very welcome. It's no problem to call me in mid-September and we will arrange a replacement shell then for you.

I am going to send you a private message with my e-mail address in it as I need some more information from you about the panniers you are using.

    Kind Regards,
    Richard

I had about the same problem, not after one year but after one month! It was with the combined hugger+chain gauard(about 180,00?)
My message to Richard never got a response...
Anyway, it wasn't well fit and very wobbling..
On advise of my dealer, I replaced it with a R&G hugger. I am very pleased with it, combined with a alu chain guard from Adventurespec.com.
Both very nice products. Good quality.

I've done a bit better than you - Richard has sent me a replacement (within one year warranty). I haven't got round to fixing it yet but I was pretty impressed with the service. I'll take a view on the product when I have run with the new one for a while. If it shows the same problem again I may well take your advice. Thanks

    The power of this forum???

Today I've received a reply to my mail from Juin!
Richard apologized for the delay and has confirmed that he will refund the cost of the 'not so good' hugger.
Of course I do appreciate this (late) commercial action. Powerbronze does listen to the complaints of his customers!
A lot of other companies doesn't.

All my sympathy and trust for Powerbronzeand their products!

    Thanks to Richard.

Replacement hugger received and fitted. Pretty impressed with the service I have received, especially as I had some pretty specific requirements for delivery - thanks to Richard for sorting this out.
Time will tell whether I was unlucky or not with the first one.
