    Too many unnecessary re-quotes

Seems to me that recently many posts include a re-quote of the previous posted message. Totally unecessary and just clutters up the topic thread.
Just jump into the thread, we get the drift.

Fair enough, I agree with you, thats a valid point.

Not much I can do on that score as it's the subsequent poster who's quoting.

One thing we do though is automatically prevent "nested quotes", which is basically a "quote" of a "quote".

Maybe some kind of 'all broadcast' guidance/suggestion from the administrator regarding over-use of re-quotes would help? Just a thought. Thanks.

On more than one occasion I have used the "search" box and what has come up I find very difficult to follow and find and be of any use, so I have posted a new question. Now this could be just me, but don't really feel I'm the only one that could be having the problem.

I've gotta say I have no issues with others using quotes. It can help pinpoint why they have responded and can put their remarks into context. Plus is makes it quite clear who's having a pop at who during the t'internet tennis matches.

I agree with Steve, because if you just reply to someone then someone else may post in the meanwhile & it makes it look as though you're responding to them.
I do think that unless it's totally necessary that photos should be eliminated from post quotes.

Yep, I've seen some topics in the past where someone has posted maybe 6 photos and then the next 3 replies quote the whole post again including the pics  :138:

Obviously we only need to see the pics once !  :001:

I think some have missed my point. Nothing wrong with using text re-quotes, particularly if it refers to a comment posted some time ago, I'm just saying many of them are unecessary. That's why it's calied a topic "thread". Enough said.
