tyres size . will 110/80/19 be ok for the front.
« on: July 14, 2017, 02:33:49 PM »
Hi all
Has anyone fitted a 110/80/19 to there tiger before. its just i have a set of the Metzeler tourance  next,I think that's what they are called. anyway they are sh*t and i want them off the bike. the only problem i have is i only have one or two options if i stick to the 100 /90/19 tyres which is what triumph say should go on the bike. I want more of a road tyres as the only time my bike will see gravel is if i bin it. the tyres that are on it are really bad if you want to ride a bit fast. and yesterday when i did hard knott pass some of the roads were bumpy and the ytres would just not hold the road. (i am changing the rear shock for a nitron) i would like to put some bt023 tyres on if i can as they are a rock solid tyre but only do the front in a 110 /80/19  do not mind the size change but would like to know if anyone has fitted a set as i do not have much room between my mud guard and tyre. So has anyone fitted a set and was it ok. i have a 2013 tiger 800. thanks All

110/80 19 is an approved Triumph fitment

Most folks seem to go with it

Thanks mate puts my mind at rest as insurance companies have a habit of not paying out if tyres are wrong :300:

Triumph factory confirmed to me last year that 110/80 19 is perfectly OK as an alternative ... No problem with space between mudguard and tyre ...  :031:

Thanks everyone. will just be happy to get the good old bt023 on the bike. i have them on my fz1n and they take some stick , and touch wood have never let go on me yet. if i can get 2500 to 3000 miles out of them i am happy. and new shock will be here in 3 weeks  :046: :020:. so bike should be 100 times better. the tyres that are on it are the worst i have ridden with, just no feed back at all ,and they bounce all over  the road. if you drive like miss daisy i guess they will give you 1000s of miles as they are like concrete. i would hate to use them in the wet  :087:. but again if you go off on tracks guess they are a good tyres for that. but as they say jack of all trades master of none
