If it is it would have the be the silliest place ever on an ADV bike.

Yes.  I think the silver cylinder behind the headers is the heat exchanger.  At least it is on the Street Triple ....

Phew. I guess the oil filter is the black one on the right of the single pipe in the photo.

Yes, in some of the other photos it's very clear that the oil filter is the black one to the right of the headers. Bravo, Triumph, for making it easy to get to! Although it does look like removing it without removing the skid plate will be messy.

Yamaha did that with their first 1100 Vstar classics. Had to take the pipe off to change filters I think. My brother has one.

It makes the aly bash-plate a necessity. LOADS of bikes have them in the same position. Amazing really.
Does anyone make a clip-on cover to fit over the top of the flimsy filter, for other bikes?
Business opportunity there?

Although it does look like removing it without removing the skid plate will be messy.

From what I've seen that bash plate comes off easy, just a few bolts......so shouldn't be a prob.....
