New Member / Lowering Links
« on: October 20, 2017, 07:31:58 PM »
Hi

Im a newbie to the Triumph forum and for that matter new to Triumph.
I'm an Ex-pat from Australia planning a 9 weeks UK/European tour in 2018. I have just bought a 2014 model Tiger 800 (Not XC) in the UK

Via Ebay i have purchased and forwarded a pair of 25mm lowering g links to my my mate whom advises when he came to fit them to the bike - they are precisely the same size as the ones already on the bike, therefore no change in seat height !!!!!

Im putting this issue down to 1 of 3 things
1 Std links (Not Lowered) supplied - im assured this is not the case!
2 its previous owner has already fitted 25mm lower links, therefore i will need to return and replace with 40-50mm lowering links
3 The links on the Tiger 800 are different length to the XC and i have been suppled with XC links

Question, give the 2014 Tiger 800 and XC models have different seat height, 810mm & 845mm respectively. do they have the same size/length lowering links

Any assistance and or clarifications on this dialema would be appreciated
Andrew

The Roadie and XC have the same length links IIRC

So I suspect it's already a lowered bike

Topic moved as more about links than an intro.

Golden rule, don't mix up subject matter in your posts  :038:

Plenty of info in the Suspension board.
