Yep, it's been a while since I attended a show I really liked and got a lot out of. Better of visiting dealers and blagging test rides  :007:

Having been to the show and seen the new Tigers today, my thoughts are that the new bike looks very nice indeed, but I wont be rushing out to trade in my xrx.
Its more evolution than revolution, but there are some nice touches such as the new screen that looks like it will work brilliantly and better suspension and brakes. Although one of the bikes had a loose screen as the screws had worked loose, so that would be something that youd need to keep an eye on.
I personally really like the new tft dash.

RE the show in general, thisll probably be the last time I go. 21 a ticket is far too much for what is on offer in my opinion.

:0461: I'm going to the show on Friday but don't expect to be tempted as it appears that I have already done the most important updates i.e. screen and suspension the rest is really superficial as far as I'm concerned.

Although as a geriatric I probably will continue as long as possible as its 12 at the moment!!!!!

my 5 cents. :) I was actually expecting that Trшumph will introduce new Tiger with a bigger engine (900cc) or so. But they did what they did. I like the new look. I think it looks better than 2017 model but for some reason I still think that the look of the 2010-2015 XC model looks better. :) Not sure about the visibility of the new TFT dash but it is the future and sooner or later analogue dashes will be dead. :) I assume that this dash and the new switchgear seriously improved usability of the modes and  other functions as the older version was not logical and was hard to operate especially while riding. Triumph also said that they shortened first gear to improve off road riding ability. I personally never had too much trouble using clutch a bit to ride in the mountains. Although I don't really mind that the new Tiger is quicker off the line I think it would have been much more usefull for most riders if Triumph made the 6th gear taller to improve highway mileage and range. To my mind the engine characterisitics could have easly allowed riding at 4500 or 5000 RPM in 6th gear at 140 km/h. The new headlights look awesome and agressive just as the Tiger should look. :) Overall I thibk tgis iteration is very solid and they actually improved on most the areas where Tiger was a bit weaker without sacrificing anythin in what it was great. Look forawrd to see it in flesh sometime next year. For the first time I actually I thoughtof selleing my 2013 XC and get the 2018 XCA or XCX. Well done Triumph! Of note, the new 850 GS beemer now looks even uglier than before and despite the fact it has more torque its still less appealing to me. In fact couple of my friends riding 800GSs are selling them to buy Tigers instead :)

they will stick a 900 engine in when/if they need/want to,
atm, the competition isn't as good, so why radically change the top dog if its still selling well?
when/if the others raise the bar, triumph may, (or may not)
but, will it lose cheaper insurance? will it make licence issues in some countrys?etc
theres a lot of issues in changing a bikes cc/power for a manufacturer
