Saccadic masking
, also known as (visual) saccadic suppression, is the phenomenon in visual perception where the brain selectively blocks visual processing during eye movements in such a way that neither the motion of the eye (and subsequent motion blur of the image) nor the gap in visual perception is noticeable to the viewer.

or something like that  :001:

I've recently acquired some Triumph spotlights (haven't I gazxclent  :002:) and IMHO there is a definite difference in how traffic behaves in front of me. I've set them to just below the top of my dipped headlight beam - no-one coming the other way has flashed me as yet  :038:

It has made an improvement to filtering on my commute and also there is a certain staggered junction where cars nip out to immediately turn right - they seem to be able to judge my approaching speed better

For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons. (Douglas Adams)

Why would anybody pay the extortionate laughable price of 300+ (plus harness) for the Triumph spot lights when you can buy these babies for 15 quid...

I've seen these fitted on GS1200's and other bikes, I've got a pair on my Tiger 800 ...they are the dog's bollocks, very white, very bright. Delivered in ten days.  :123: :001:
