Muddysump taking a break...
« on: January 07, 2018, 03:52:51 AM »
Some rather worrying news has been posted on his website:

http://www.muddysump.com/main/its-break-time/

The picture in particular gives me cause for concern, I do hope hes OK. Ive sung his praises here and elsewhere, as Im sure many of you have - it looks like his popularity has got the better of him, poor chap. :003:

Unfortunately its the downside of running your own successful business..

Your at everyones beck and call....

You have to set aside the right amount of time for yourself....

I've never used him but have met the guy at the Norfolk Mega Meet few years ago.. Nice chap.. Lets hope he gets some rest.. Does a few bike trips and comes back refreshed.

It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

Here's hoping David gets a decent break and a chance to chase some dreams. He works hard enough to deserve everything he wishes for.

Cant say as I blame the guy life is for living. Im in a similar position owning my own business you are always at the beck and call of the customer and down time is a premium. What I will say is he will be missed for sure good guy with good skills but things move on.
Best of luck to you Mr Sump whatever you decide to do.

If I could speak for all of us that have met him, he is a top bloke and fully respected on this forum. If he decides to pack it in then I don't think anyone would blame him. Great guy and it was an honour for me to meet him.

Work / life balance.  Hard to do when working for yourself.  Even harder when travelling the country doing it.

+1 from me ... But that's a bummer, as Tiger was just about due for its 12,000 mile service ... Great guy David , deserves his break, and I hope he comes back later in the year  :187:

With the sabatical of Dave (MuddySump) http://www.muddysump.com/main/its-break-time/ and my lack of faith in my local Triumph dealer (no names, no pack-drill), can anyone recommend a decent Tiger service centre in the  South East/West region.
Clive Wood Triumph http://www.mk1speedtriple.co.uk/clive-wood-independant-triumph-specialist/ would be my second choice, but Swineshead Lincolnshire is a step too far, for me, to travel for a service.
