« on: February 08, 2018, 09:55:44 PM »
Hi all, Im in the middle of checking my valve clearances,
It says in the triumph manual that when fitting the right hand crank cover you need to replace the two longer bolts, anybody else know why? And whats the consequences if I dont,

I never have, I can't imagine any possible serious consequences. Worst case it may weep oil, mine's never done that though
I don't even change the gasket, I do have a spare one just in case though  :002:

I think it simply means replace them in the right holes...I've never heard of having to replace them

Unless they have an extraordinary high torque setting that could stretch the bolt I'd just reuse.

Didn't replace mine and from memory they're not a high torque so shouldn't be damaged in any way.
