Touring screen query.
« on: February 28, 2018, 04:37:05 PM »
I have a 2017 xrt and would like to change the stock adjustable screen to an adjustable high/touring screen. I have been told the latest screen is part number A9708399 which is a kit with all the fittings and brackets. The screen itself is part number a9701204. Does anyone know if this screen is transferrable to the existing stock screen fittings or would I have to buy the whole kit.

thanks all.

You need the whole kit, the brackets aren't transferable

I test rode the XRx with standard screen and it was horrendous so (Total Triumph) let me go straight out on another bike with the 'Touring' screen .... result .... exactly the same, just as horrendously sh*t.  :151:
Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!

I've had 2 aftermarket screens:  I like the Puig Touring Windscreen I've installed.  It's much better than stock.  Previously, I had the MRA VarioTouringScreen.  The Puig offers better airflow and protection in my opinion.

I thought the touring screen was a reasonable improvement on the original, the Givi AirFlow I later put on is better still.

The touring screen is better for wind noise than the standard item imo & doesn't spoil the looks like some of the after market designs. All depends on: size of the rider, how they sit on the bike, and the bonce potty. It's not going to suit everybody, some are happy with the std screen.
