Just had a look in ebay, looks like a very good option for a mount above the instruments.  :001: :001:

Hi Philgm
I need to fit a Tomtom 550 to my new xca and I think that your home brewed solution looks pretty good. I'm thinking of having a go at making one myself, but before I take the plunge, can you tell me if there are any problems? I'm specifically wondering if the satnav vibrates, as the pipework  is quite long and of course is unsupported at the top

Yes there was a problem with vibration but I got round that by attaching a foam pad to the underside of the mount sticking it on to the instrument cowl. It's been fine so far and I've done 4500 miles with it fitted. I think making the frame from 12mm stainless tube would go a long way to solving that problem but it looks like an alternative has already come along.

Had to resize the pics as they were too big.

Do I see it correctly that if you move the screen, the navigation also moves?

And is it possible to move the screen for the full range up and down or are there limitations? Not that I ever use the lowest position but just to know..

If you use a Ram clamp yes. If you mount a dock directly (the hole spacings are standard) you will lose the lower two settings as the Sat Nav sits on the clocks. Ive tried both ways and I prefer using the clamp as it brings the Sat Nav higher so you dont lose sight of the road.
