Parking Bristol
« on: March 25, 2018, 07:46:09 PM »
I am going to Bristol for a week with work and was hoping to take the tiger down.

I have found official motorbike parking outside where I will be during the day.

I am just a little nervous having read the various articles regarding bike thefts in the city.

can anyone local advise how safe the tiger is likely to be chained up to a rail for a week?

many thanks

Do you mean over night or during work hours ?

Despite whats in the press I'd say Bristol is no worse than any other major city. It's certainly much better than London which is rediculous for bike thieft these days.

Presumably you are staying down there and to some degree it depends in what part of town you are leaving your bike each night ? Like anywhere there are good and bad areas.

Thanks for the reply

It will probably be a case of ride down park it up then leave it there for the week I'm in town.

Its near the center of bristol and the bike will be right outside where I will be working.

Don't think I would leave my bike in the same place for a week in Bristol. Once the scroats have sussed it isn't being moved they will be along in the middle of the night to help themselves.

My daughter lives in central Bristol and her car was forever being broken into, loads of low life down there. If you can park in a secure carpark at the hotel it would be ok but I would steer clear of roadside or public parking.

Yep, I agree, where are you staying at night, could it not be parked up there ?

unfortunately where I am staying doesn't have any parking, the only option would be chained up outside a large car park.

look like this trip may have to be public transport  :006:

thanks for all the helpful replies guys
