Installing a BMW Navigator IV on my 2018 Tiger 800 XRT
« on: April 16, 2018, 02:22:46 AM »
I'm trying to install a BMW Navigator IV GPS and its Cradle on my 2018 Tiger 800 XRT.  The GPS is leftover when I upgraded the GPS on my other bike, a K1600GTL. My problem is that there are no instructions for wiring the cradle to the bike.  There are two plugs coming out of the cradle and I don't know which is for the power. If anyone knows anything about this GPS Cradle please give me a shout.  Looking forward to a reply.  Thanks for your help.

That GPS and the mount look very much like it's a rebranded Garmin Zumo 660/665. The Zumo 660/665 user guide and installation guide (from the Garmin website) show how to install it.  Perhaps give that a try.

Yes all the BMW Navigator GPS are simply rebadged Garmin units with a slightly different user interface.

Would probably help if you post a photo of the two plugs  :038:

Edit:  A chap I work with says that if the connector with 3 wires is red, black, and purple. Then red is your live and the black ground. Ignore the purple wire and the other plug.
