New Michelin Road 5 trial
« on: June 05, 2018, 12:01:37 PM »
hi
I have to buy new tyres for my xrx.
Last 3 seasons i used Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trial:
front: 110/80 R 19 59V TL
rear: 150/70 R 17 69V TL

PilotRoad 4 Trial are no more available with fresh DOT

Now Michelin did Road 5 Trial - anybody use it?

I consider also Metzeler Roadtec 01
I mostly use paved roads.

What would You suggest me?

regards Seba

Just put Road 5s on my Tiger , massive difference from the Tourance Nexts that were on .

Smoother . rolls into corners, feels very secure , not trieded them in the wet yet, but do not doubt they will be as good as the PR4s.

I have got PR4s on my BMW and the 5s are every bit as good in overall handling.

Are they the trail version back & front?

AFAIK the front is only available as the trail version in Tiger sizes

Ok thanks, I was wondering what mcinlb has fitted, he seems real happy with them. Is it the trail or road rear mcinlb if you're listening.

I have a trail rear (the front is still a PR4) they stick like brown stuff to a blanket - wet or dry (so did the PR4s)

Ok thanks for that, I have PR4's on my TS, the T8 seems to be taking it's time wearing out the oem Tourance next's. Sounds good I'll fit the R5 trails both ends when req'd.

They have a definite visible compound change on the shoulder, I've already abused mine to test it  :001:
