How low can I get my Tiger
« on: June 24, 2018, 10:03:18 AM »
I have already lowered my bike but still find it a little too tall. Can anyone tell me the lowest I can get it and if so what length of dog bones should I use?

I don't know what the maximum is but I suspect around 40mm
I'd be tempted to get the seat remodelled to further reduce the height rather than go to extremes with the suspension linkages

+1    40mm    :169:

What is it at the moment as I wouldn't go too mad.

Sounds harsh but I would seriously consider a different bike if it's an issue.

I lowered mine 25mm, I couldn't stop the pegs scraping the ground when I rode it enthusiastically, returned back to standard after 200 miles or so.
Just something for you to consider

Just lowered my 15 xcx about one inch and pegs scrap , I am going to try and go up 1/2 inch with adjustable dog legs. I guess the factory setting is just about right for clr clearance .But hard for some us shortie's to reach.

Keep in mind that when using lowering links you are changing the relationship (angles) between the countershaft, swing arm pivot and rear axle because the frame section with the engine is going to sit lower in relation to the rear axle. On some bikes if you go to far you can create issues with chains rubbing where they should not rub.

If the pegs scrape, you could always reduce the length of the hero blobs.

Just remove them.

I wear Daytona MStar GTX boots, gives me about 25 mm extra height but they only go to size 9/43.

Maybe check out what Triumph have done to the low version. Do pegs scrape easy on that? Get a test ride on one.
