Brands Hatch BSB viewing point
« on: June 30, 2018, 11:51:57 PM »
Going with my lad to BSB at Brands Hatch 22 July.
Any recommendations for where to view the racing.

Is it quick to leave in a car at the close of play or do we just need to be patient?
Lodging in Waltham Abbey so public transport on a Sunday is a non-starter as far as I can make out.

I quite like Paddock Hill Bend as it's also near food/facilities etc, although viewing is pretty reasonable all round the circuit.

Getting out is pretty slow in a car but depends on what car park you end up in. Quite often if you want to head back to London they send you in the opposite direction down the A20. You are going completely the wrong way but it's to encourage you to use the M20 instead as there's a junction further down. Still a crawl though. Really depends on the car park you are in. Either leave early or stay late. Most people start to leave near the end of the 2nd BSB race.

If it's on the indy circuit, most places give a great view of the circuit

On the GP circuit, I used to love watching just before Dingle Dell but I did hear they were going to restrict spectators in that area

Tinkering is what happens when you try something you dont quite know how to do, guided by whim, imagination, and curiosity.

Well there's both really, but yes take a camping chair, not a problem, loads of people take one.

Indy circuit then we sat on the start/finish stand, gave a great view of most of the circuit (other than when the track goes right behind the building) but that's only a couple of seconds that you cant see.

Great day out. Arrived around 1030 and well organised parking.
Very crowded at Druids. Undestandable as its a great view of the indy circuit.
Headed to Pilgrims Drop near the bridge to watch Ducati race. Great noise.
Moved on to other side of the track for superstock 600. Some great racing.
Further up to entry Hawthorn for the rest of the day. Left the chairs in the car.
Stayed to watch the sidecars. Won by a Scots pair.
Exit was well organised. I guess the crowd had dispersed after Race 2.
Dropped the boy at Swanley station and was back in Waltham Abbey by 8:15.
Might go back in Octber.
