Rear shock removal

(1/8) > >>

fairwaysflyer:
Hi guys,
Anyone removed and replaced the rear shock on a 2011 xc?
Can the reservoir be detached from the main unit then reattached or.......?
Anything I should be aware of?
All advice greatfully received!!
Cheers

Cats:
I think lots of us have removed the rear shock for swingarm maintenance but don't detach the reservoir as it will lose all it's gas and can't be re-filled. You'll end up needing a new shock.
The Roadie shock can be re-built though as it doesn't have a reservoir.

CSAW:
Have had the shock out of my 2012 XC.  It can be removed without removing the reservoir from the shock.  As stated above, do not remove reservoir from shock.

fairwaysflyer:
Only had a quick look but is there room for the reservoir to get thru the frame on removal?

Cats:
Yes.
