How many hours labour for the first 6,000 service ?
« on: July 29, 2018, 03:36:42 PM »
Hi

Simple question. How many hours labour for the first 6,000 service please?

Charged three hours but I think this is over the top. Before I query it I just wanted to know if it is likely to be right or wrong.

Many thanks

Derek

I have just had my 6000 service, they did it while I waited. I was there for 2 hours, havent got my bill to hand, but labour was 80 something pounds.

I'm guessing the OP used Laguna?

I have a receipt from them for my old tiger 800s 6k service and they charged 2hrs labour (120) back in 2012

Labour charge at Plymouth Triumph was 66hr 12 months ago. Just had a text and email today from them saying my service and 1st MOT are due and to book it in. MOT though will be done at the same place I have used for the last 25yrs and I trust and this is the last service on the 3yr plan I stupidly fell for at purchase. After this one it can look forward to proper servicing without the cut corners.

6k service diy, labour cost zilch. What they gonna do for 3 hours besides break stuff?

I am a reasonable mechanic but old and slow. Not sure how I could spend 3 hours on a 6K service, lunch and a rest?. I'm guessing this is flat rate meaning that the slowest worst mechanic in the world would spend 3 hours.
