Cheap Strong Top Box

Just fitted an altrider rack to the XRT and bolted on a Pelican Case style box from my local car parts shop (Supacheap).  Same system as I had on the last bike, works well, $75 including screws and bolts etc (but not including rack), waterproof.

There are now brackets available from a couple of US vendors that allow you to mount Pelican or Pelican knock off boxes onto racks using removable fittings so the box is not permanently attached.

The only thing with those cases is they tend not to be able to hold a helmet or any bulkier items due to their flatter profile - unless you fit a huge one of course.

Looks like they'd make decent panniers for shortish trips

Screw a couple of cabinet handles from Bunnings to the outside and strap your wets there for quick access:
