Battleax A41 - xrx
« on: November 04, 2018, 12:15:25 PM »
Bought bike with 3770 miles and Tourance Next tyres. Rear tyre was already flattening centrally. Quite disappointed with the bike's ability to cope with road imprefections (particularly compared to my previous BMW R1200RT) . Put up with it until puncture at 5500 miles. After a bit of research, have fitted a pair of Bridgestone Battleax A41 tyres. The handling has been transformed. Highly recommended.

Hi and :401:

Did you replace the front with the A41 100/90 factory spec bias tyre or upgrade as most of us have to the 110/80R size and therefore benefit from the vast improvement of having a radial tyre both ends?

I have 100/90 front. I was aware of the other size, but thought that was a poorer choice, as Triumph literature says -110/80 acceptance where 100/90 not available. Form what you say I may have been wrong. Perhaps I will try 110/80 next time.

If your current weather in Wales is anything like here in the SW at the moment you may have some spare time in which case just have a browse through the 'Tyres and Wheels' section.
Going to radials both ends almost eradicates white lining, tram lining, etc. :028:

When I did my spoke > cast wheel swap on my XCx, I also went with the A41's. I debated between the 100/90 and 110/80R front, and opted for the 100/90. I wanted to lose as little front height as possible, and between the 19" rim and 100/90 tire, the ride/handling difference is amazing. Happy with my choice.
