further update....bike still cutting out, 3 times today, all on closed throttle just after changing down....once on a busy 3 lane roundabout...iffy to say the least, ring dealer tomorrow... :003:

depressing and annoying, don't feel like I have a new bike...

My 5 month old/1500 mile XRT has cut out twice when changing UP between 2nd and 3rd gear recently. Engine just dies but will start again OK. All the other reports are when downshifting. As some have commented, this could be dangerous and even lethal in certain circumstances and it's worth stressing this to the dealer. Will get a few more miles under my belt then see the dealer.

Happened again on the 2018 XCX for the 3rd time. Same scenario-- shifting down 4th to 3rd with throttle off. Complete engine cutout. Had to re-start.
Come on Triumph, it's real--fix it!
Laterally unstable unless moving.

2018 XRX. Have had the cutting out problem 5 times now and getting seriously pissed off with my bike.
Bike has been back to the dealer twice and nothing found after complete reset of software and Triumph saying not heard of a problem which is obviously bollocks as a lot of us are having the same issue.
Out yesterday going round a bend and the bike cut out again.
This is my first Triumph after riding for over 40 years with Japanese bikes and have to say thinking of reluctantly going back to the Japanese bikes.
Come on Triumph - you know you have a problem and are choosing to ignore it. Not great customer service to say the least 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

I know it's a pretty long stretch, but could a marginally adjusted (or even flakey) side stand cutout switch be a possible root cause?

Haven't had the cutout yet on my MY17 XRT, but FWIW I did find the brake pad retaining pins were only just slightly more than finger tight from factory.   :191:

It seems most reported cut-out descriptions here include a situation when the bike is turning e.g. "Roundabout, in turn, round a bend,..."etc. That was the case for all of my situations.

Thinking now a clue might be some erroneous behaviour of the Fall Detection Switch, given the bike is leaning? The other common configuration events seem to be a downshift with a throttle off.

The Throttle, gear position indicator, and the fall detection switch all share the same 5v supply from the ECU.
Come on Triumph, think about it!
