kriega Fork Seal covers fitted today question
« on: January 03, 2019, 01:52:12 PM »
Finally got round to buying some Kriega Fork Seal Protectors today , to hopefully stop the winter crap getting into fork seals

Fitted nice and easy and looks good

My question is are they are a fit and forget or do you need to clean them underneath from time to time ?
Do they need some WD40 or something on the covers to lubricate them or do you keep them dry so not to attract dirt

Cheers Steve

Nothing is fit and forget.  That's just lazy.  Best to remove and check every few months and some lubrication also.  WD40 is not lubrication.

Wash the protectors with warm water and mild detergent.  Then sparingly apply some red rubber grease or something designed for rubber/foam.

WD40 is no good as at best can only be described as a very weak lubricant.
