Adventure Spec foot extender on 2018 bike with centre stand?
« on: January 24, 2019, 02:06:28 PM »
Hi All,

Ive scanned this forum and others to check if an Adventure Spec side stand extender fits a 2018 XCx with a factory centre stand.

The AS website refers fitment questions back to this forum! Youd think theyd know their own product?

So to avoid any disappointment, have any owners with a similar bike fitted one without modification?

Cheers

As no one was able to respond I went ahead and bought one - it doesnt fit with the centre stand and is just touching. Its a different shape to the one shown on their website. When folded its trapped there and the centre stand needs to be deployed before it can be released - an unlikely scenario

So what does fit? I called R & G and theyre not sure - if I buy it and attempt to fit it and it doesnt work theres no refund??

Thanks for any guidance 👍

Looking at their advert,
The PKS0043SI is not compatable with a centre stand.
The PKS0073SI is supposed to fit a '18 XCA, which comes with a centre stand.
Which one did you try?

Or, make it yourself.

Trim it to fit.  Did that with my SW Motech one.  Two minutes with a dremel sorted it.
Stupid is as stupid does.

Thank you Cadence for the post. I m exactly in the same situation! I have a T800 2018 XRT, AS website referred me to the forum, my email message bounced back ( some set up at their end treating incoming emails as spam ). Even if you call they can't confirm anything .... R&G Dealer here in Canada have the same answer, no refund. All what  they said:  well ....euuuh ..it should work....hmmm.. ask your friends to make sure ...lol really ?? I don't like to grind or touch the extender with a drimmel. I am wondering if there is any side stand foot extender that would not interfere with the 2018 Tiger 800 XRT on the market. Otherwise I will stick to a puck :(    Any thoughts ?

Hi - Apologies for not updating this post.

In the end I took the plunge and bought the R&G foot extender.

Although quite pricey, Im pleased to report its an excellent fit and seems much better quality compared to the Adventure Spec version. It looks good on the bike and seems effective.

Recommended IMO 👍

Not sure they get away with that, it's against distance selling regulations.

I should have added, no modifications needed on the R & G - it doesnt foul the chain or the centre stand on my 2018 XCx - The Adventure Spec hit both

I put one from Altrider on mine.  Fits/works fine with centerstand.   Pricey but you get what you pay for..
