2018 Tiger Indicators
« on: January 26, 2019, 01:29:55 PM »
:003: I noticed that the indicators on the 2018, on, Tiger 800 XR do not have the flexible neck of the previous model.
I suspect there will be a few of them broken over 12 months if ownership !

Lent against my rear nearside LED indicator and semi broke it off, trying my Gorilla superglue, if not I'll tape it. Fittings not as good as my old 2011 model although this XRT is a better bike.

Yup, walked past mine in the shed, snagged a rear indicator on my leathers and snapped it. Are the older ones better? Will the fit my 2018 XRX if I can get some?

Couldn't help just noticing about the indicators issue. I believe they were the only Achilles heel of any Tiger I've had. Take a look at my solution in the Electrical, Lighting, and Wiring forum. Look for the "Very Flexible Turn Signals" post. (and yes I see I spelled flexible improperly) :191:

Fit some nice LEDs.  Triumph do a nice one, expensive, but looks great and works and small enough not to snag etc - Triumph black aluminium or some such.  Have them on the rear of the Tiger.  Have these up front:

And yes that's not a typo on the price either.  Very bendy stalks on them.  No breaky.

Does anyone know what the Triumph part number for the 2018 LED indicators on an XRX is? I haven't been able to find this on Fowlers' site.

I moved my front indicators up to the screen mount .well out of the way but still 100% visible . No extra wiring necessary. Easy mod . Saves when they push through the plastic panel they were originally fitted to.

Try  A9830046.  Same for front and rear so you need to order x2 at 102 per pair (204 total)

Last week my dealer replaced one indicator that had been broken. The indicator was 41,50 euro. The dealer was working on my bike for something else, so this was a 5 minute job. So, the total costs were under 50 euro.

This was the first indicator in 6 months of heavy use. That is acceptable for me. But replacing indicators can become expensive. Therefore, I already did buy black duct tape. That will be used for the next indicator (if this happens within 12 months)
