The start of the 500 at Baden-Baden is easily do-able in a days ride from Calais or Zeebrugge.
Current bikes Tiger800 XRx, Tiger Sport 1050, Ariel FH 650, Yam Serow 225.

I,m planning for Easter weekend. Not sure if anything will be open but the 4 day break makes it worth the risk.

A group of us are doing the Black Forest area 27th of July into first week of August looking forward to it, any one stayed in the Gasthof Pension Williams in Seebach on the B500, I think its run by an English couple, any information would be very helpful. Thanks. Ponch

Well it can be wet at any time. In 2016 I literally swam through the Black Forest in June on the way to the Tridays. I do not pre-book accommodation in Germany I just ride as long as I want check booking.com and I always find something suitable within a short distance. That works at least for me as a single person.
Life is too short to drink bad wine or to ride bad bikes.
