2018 Tiger screen bolts
« on: February 10, 2019, 10:34:29 AM »
Hi all,

I cant find the answer to this in any of the docs Ive read so thought Id ask the experts.

I need to replace 2 of the screen bolts for longer versions but cant find what type they are other than being flanged Allen head bolts. Does anyone know what the diameter is e.g. M3, M4 etc or even the exact name if Ive got any of it wrong.

Much appreciated

They look like M5 button heads

Try Kay's

They're M5, but they have a shoulder, which means that standard buttons are not that good.
The shoulder prevents the plastic screen from being crushed.

That won't do either.
See attached picture for shouldered bolt.
The shoulder prevents the fastener from clamping down too tightly on the plastic screen.
I have not been able to source such fasteners from alternate suppliers.

Why not take one out & measure it, you'll need to know the length they are to buy longer ones.

That's exactly what I've done Paulhere, except the mm marks on my tape measure from 1-10 are completely faded so I can't measure the diameter.  Length measurement is fine.  That left me with two options, find the details online but most part resellers don't have the 2018 model; or ask the experts  :001:

Count the threads over a distance eg 25 threads in 25mm = M6 or 10 threads in 8mm =M5
