Another new member from Australia
« on: February 12, 2019, 09:51:27 AM »
Greetings from Sunshine Coast, Australia!

Have had my 2013 T800 XC ABS for 20 months now, but only just stumbled on this fine forum.

Recently removed the Safari tank and air filter box to clean the stepper motor and linkages after suffering from another episode of the annoying engine stalling at idle, only to put everything back together, attempted to start the bike, and the engine warning light comes on. Disassembled again and found that I'd forgot to connect a breather pipe. Reassembled, bike started perfectly, but warning light stayed on. I thought it would clear by itself after a few rides, but after 2 weeks I began to doubt myself.

I had a look in the folder of information the previous owner gave to me, and found a couple of USB leads with OBD scan and Lonelec OBDII scan attached, and some printouts regarding the TigerTool from this forum. I then found this forum, and the excellent work by T800XC in developing the TigerTool!!! Thank-you very much, T800XC!

Anyway, I spent a week firing up an old laptop with Windows 8.1 (moved to MacBook a few years ago), downloaded 243 updates and then started the search for the TigerTool V2 download. Finally found the V2.5 DL, and managed to get it onto the computer. I was all excited about connecting up tonight, and getting rid of that code, when the light finally went off this morning as I fired up the bike to go to work! I'll just have to be satisfied with switching off the service indictor icon.

Just a quick word about the forum. I'm extremely impressed with what I have seen so far. People seem to be very respectful of one another, and every request for advice seems to be answered sincerely. Well done everyone, and well done administrators! This is a forum I'm happy to be a part of.

I love riding my Tiger, and its the first bike I have owned that my wife is happy to be a pillion passenger on! Happy days!

Safe riding everyone.

Welcome.

Google "Muddy Sump". He will become your best virtual friend if you are a DIY sort.
