Yes, they are physically the same externally, just the marking different. I'm certain Triumph off loaded old stock earlier (Street Triple mainly) models and with mine having the uprated alternator I have some doubts on long term reliability (given the correct higher spec model failed so soon) and the 12 month warranty expiry is approaching time will clearly tell.
Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!
