I have Barkbusters on my 800XC. They came supplied with the "offset" connectors that are shown in Blitzys' link.

What the OP has is clearly not fit for purpose as it doesn't fit properly. Maybe they just put the wrong connectors (i.e. straight ones) in the bag instead of the offset ones. I would not expect to pay extra for the "offset" connectors in order for the guards to fit properly. Go back to the vendor and ask for the correct connectors. If they want to charge for them ask for a full refund and return what you have as being not fit for purpose.

Nothing more than my humble opinion of course  :001:

He bought the barkbusters as used so not necessarily a barkbuster dealer.  If they are though then requesting the correct offset items is worth the effort.

Bought it from a private person for 40.
That offset connector will cost more drlivered than what I paid for the set.
Shipping, customs, tax...

But if some of you got it installed whithout it I think it is possible for me too...

Thanks for the link! That will be ~23 for two including shipping to my country.
Need to hurry before brexit or customs, tax will be added  :002:

I hope the offset ones will not downgrade in durability

Me too. Even have an extra bendy fitting in case the Wifes Roadie gets fitted with a set.
