I did that first, but on removing the tank  I think Ive got another litre or so out when  shaking it upside down !  Just being a anal really and if I ever did it again I would just go for the siphon.

PS I can pretty much guarantee that the breakdown guys will not pump anything out. They'll empty the tank, put some unleaded in, start the bike and run it until the white smoke stops and give it back to you with a large invoice. IMHO :-)

And then put the drained diseasel into their van.

Thanks for the replies. Left it with local guy who basically syphoned it out and filled with fresh petrol. No issues at all. He charged 40, which included 18 for the fuel so I was happy not to have a gob full of diesel to spoil my day ;-). He enjoyed the Tiger btw

My brother filled his Harley with diesel out in the middle of nowhere, Wyoming. Didnt start it, just siphoned as much diesel out as we could and filled it up with gas. My brother got on & fired it up and took-off & kept motor running as fast as possible. It smoked a lot, in a couple miles it was running fine. :152:

Good luck!
