Thanks for the advice. Read your previouse post. I've got one of those cheap chain splitters also but got the one with the most good reviews. I will post how it does

I prefer to use an endless chain and take the opportunity to do a lube service on the rear suspension and linkages.
If it's time for a new chain, it's time to service the suspension.

I had my chain joined at shop so I didn't have to buy a chain tool,  plus I have swinging arm out every year anyway

The factory chain is only basic O ring and the best DID chain would be the X ring ZVMX .....  19 more for chain and sprockets from M and P (postage free).  :028:

Yes DID every time for me, much better than the OEM chains from any manufacturer, when I had the Africa Twin 650 we always used to buy the OEM front sprocket and bin the one in the kits  :028:

Not something I need worry about any more  :001:
