DID for me too. Have 36,000 miles on my current one which was fitted in Tucson, Arizona. Currently in Chile and expect to change the chain in about another 4,000 miles or so. I have a Scottoiler and regularly clean the chain.

I will definitely go for the endless chain next time. No need to grind rivets etc. to remove the old one or have to rivet master links. Also offers an opportunity to service the rear suspension linkages.

Thanks guys lots of good advice and links.
Purchased bike last year at 9k mile now on 16.5k and chain at full recommend stretch
Planning full service before EU run this season.
