C1612 Front wheel sensor abnormal input or dropping out
« on: May 18, 2019, 02:25:44 PM »
Hi all,

When I used TigerTool 2.5 to bleed my brakes, it reported that there was a DTC logged as follows:

C1612 Front wheel sensor abnormal input or dropping out

TigerTool checks for DTCs prior to allowing the ABS pump bleeding process and so this DTC was already logged but there were no warnings showing on the bike, ie no ABS fault light or any DTCs to see on the display.

The brakes and ABS work fine and I wasn't aware of any issue until starting the work.  The fault code has been cleared using TigerTool.

I will be checking the clearance from the wheel speed sensor to the ABS ring to make sure it is correct and I will be making sure the sensor face is clean.  I may then check the sensor's electrical connector if necessary.  Apart from these basic checks, does anyone have any direct experience of other possible causes of this particular fault code?

Thanks.
