I have the X system on my 2018 XRT. The V system uses vacuum from the inlet manifold to operate. I don't think you can fit this to the 2018 on model. I went for the X as it's electronic and has a pump. The benefit is that it operates the same on all temperatures. I have a V on my old Tiger 955i and it poured out in the summer and hardly delivered in the winter due to oil viscosity.

The X performs well in any temperature so far. Easy install just wire to the battery. The unit senses from vibration when the bike is running and switches on. Press button to control flow and its adjustable.

Works for me  :031:
It wasn't me !!

+1 for the Cobrra oiler. Had scottoilers in the past but much prefer the Cobrra. Works via pressure and not vacuum.

Just had a V system installed on my late 2018 XRt with no problem.  :016:

Triumph didn't recomend the V system on my 2017. So I went for the Cobra. Fantastic little bit of kit. Only put oil on the chain when you want, hardly any splatter.

Triumph dealer who fitted it didn't say anything about it not being suitable and it seems to be working ok.
Did they say why?

I cant remember why they didnt approve it. I know some fitted it anyway. I didnt so it wouldnt affect the warranty.
Im glad I didnt fit it after getting the cobra.

im om my third Tiger 800, ive had the v system on the first 2 and now trying the new Xsystem electronic, we do a fair bit of touring and I wouldnt be without it, as long as you keep it topped up and adjust flow for seasonal changes they never let you down, chain is always clean and well lubed, only had 1 chain and sprocket set and that was on my 2011 XC did about 23k

Had the V system on my 2012 Roadie. Haven't had any problems with it, other than losing an injector once.  So I carry a spare injector with me.
Give a man a fish and he'll demand chips, a six pack of stella, 20 fags and a scratch card to go with it. Make him do some work for his fish. He'll aporeciate it more.
