I know I ride slowly but . . .
« on: May 25, 2019, 05:26:48 PM »
. . .should I really have to clean flies off the back of the windscreen? 2019 XRT. I suppose it is to do with that vent in the middle of the standard screen  but after nearly every ride I find flies streaked on the back of the screen. Weird. Otherwise I am very happy with the bike; probably the best I have ever had straight out of the box. Usually I would have wanted to change the screen and make other changes by now. Previous bikes Tiger Explorer, 1200GS etc.

That will be those flies trying to overtake, but cutting in to early and crashing into the back of the screen. :001:

I get the bugs on the back of the screen thing as well, and I dont ride particularly slow😏.   Seems they get sucked through the vent in the screen and splatter themselves on the inside.   No biggie, carry a good screen cleaning fluid and a microfiber towel in the panniers and give he an occasional wash inside and out.😊.   Besides, who looks through the windscreen anyway?

That's what I call a hell of a tailwind.
Laterally unstable unless moving.

Exactly so. There is even a general pattern to where the bugs will land on the backside. Must be a hell of 1 millisecond ride for the bug.

put a "No Bug Entry" sign above the vent. Sometimes the most obvious solutions are the easiest to overlook.
