2” Risers Rox EBay..... Not Anti Vibration
« on: June 18, 2019, 06:10:40 PM »
Why do people go for the more expensive Rox risers and not the eBay variety for around £30??
Not wanting any arguements I just can’t see what’s wrong with the cheaper ones.
Any genuine points of view are welcome  :418:

£30? you can get these babies on Ebay for less than a tenner....nothing wrong with them. I bought a pair for 12 quid last year, 4k miles later... Spain/Portugal tour...still bolted on rock solid, the finish is a perfect match to the handlebars and what an improvement to the riding position. No "Rox" logo but who cares? Not me, what I saved bought me petrol.   :001:  :152:

I prefer the slightly more expensive ones which don't have shims. My experience of shimmed ones is that they rotate when the clamps are done up to the correct torque, which isn't something that you want from handlebars.

Can't say that about mine, like I said, 12 months and over 4,000 miles later the risers AND bars are bolted on rock solid. Surely if the shims are rotating the allen bolts aren't tight enough...need a tad more torque...won't hurt them.

I gave them a bit more torque - about 50% more. Swivel swivel. Not on the Tiger, this was on the Scrambler.

I'm no expert but from the pic it looks like they are cast alloy,
I just ordered a set of 2inch antivibe risers from Rox and the difference from what I can see is that they a CNC milled from a solid piece of alloy making them less prone to cracking, that's why I went for the Rox.
I have never cut corners on safety eg, Brakes, Steering or Tyres.
Just sayin.
