Does anyone know what the letter B denotes at the beginning of the engine serial
number..?

If you mean the 11th digit of the VIN (just before the 6-digit serial number), then for the UK it denotes the model year. B = 2011.

My Tiger is French, and the engine number also starts with B.

Just a wild guess, as it was a developement from the engine from the original 675 Street Triple, could that be A and first Tigers's B.
