Does anybody have an idea how long I need to get from Fort William to Thurso via Durness?
Is Google map accurate enough?

Got a couple of days away next week.

I find it fairly accurate to be honest.  If you use it for navigation with live traffic it will even re-route.
Stupid is as stupid does.

Planning a route in Basecamp seems to be extremely optimistic with journey times.
Same rout in Google Maps looks more realistic.

With stops for fuel, brews, lunch & pics, I'd add 2 hours to whatever Google calc's for a days riding time. Works for me.
Current bikes Tiger800 XRx, Tiger Sport 1050, Ariel FH 650, Yam Serow 225.

I have been ft bill to durness (or vice versa) several times and in truth I can't say I noted exactly how long it took.
Are you going, Spean Bridge, Glen Sheil, Achnasheen, Garve, Ullapool , north ---
Or
Spean Bridge, Drumnadrochit, Beauly, Garve, Ullapool, north.
Or
Spean Bridge, Beauly, Dingwall, Lairg, north.
???
All are good options.
The quickest is probably  Beauly, Garve, Ullapool.
If Embra to Ft Bill is 3hrs, Ft Bill to Durness is Five, imho.
I have never had to get to Durness for a specific time ,!!!

I travel all over the North for work, need to be fairly exact on arrival times,  I use google maps, usually pretty accurate, seems like they use an average of 50mph

If I wasn't such an Aris I might have realised your point might be that'll Google works at 50mph and if you think your avg is 30mph ----- multiply by 5/3 !!!

Probably Drumnadrochit - Beauly - Ullapool. Staying next night at J O'G so a slow bimble along the top is likely.
