Odd, nothing on my 2018 XRT, maybe the previous owner took them off?!

Tell a lie though, my 2017 CB500X had them.

No exchange bike while they put your bike right?

No - Bill Smith's said that I would have to try and negotiate with Triumph to get a courtesy bike.
They really are right bar stewards there, but as it's only for a couple of days, I just bit the bullet.

Brand new bike? Not a good start at all if new.

Just under 2 months old with 420 miles on the clock when I bought it at a very good price last week, so not complaining provided it is sorted soon.

Is this why previous owner got shut?

No - I contacted him and he confirmed all was well - it was just that he had made a mistake and preferred his Harley.

I don't think you would get shut of a brand new bike because of a small leak - if it had been rejected and/or replaced, Triumph would have taken the old one in to rectify, not try and palm it off.

Tiny detail but are side reflectors a legal requirement on new bikes now? I've not had them on any of my bikes.

US Dept. of Transportation requirement - it's probably easier to put them on all bikes rather than just those for the US.

:401: to the world of Tigers, Geordieland.

Sorry to hear of your problem though. Bought my XRx from Bill Smiths yesterday, mine was also a good deal as its less than 500 miles on the clock and a very good price. Not sure what they are like there to deal with for servicing and repairs though, but I was surprised when they wanted to charge 10 to test ride a Yamaha Tracer.

Hope they sort it quickly for you and you can enjoy your ride

Thanks Mr Grumpy

Yes, I also got stung for the 10 test ride (never been charged at Williams in Manchester for BMW test rides), but didn't complain and made sure I got my moneys worth.
Had a couple of mates that have bought from Bill Smiths and not totally satisfied, but as I was not about to take it back to Hampshire  :156: I decided that a warranty is a warranty so give it a go - I don't think that it's a big job anyway and hope to have it back tomorrow.

Love the Tiger (for the short period that I've owned her  :002:) but think I will be investing in a larger screen for touring.

Great forum and I hope to be around for some time.
