After market Exhausts
« on: September 13, 2019, 11:04:35 PM »
Hi There,
I have a 2015 Tiger 800 XCX and am thinking about a new exhaust.
What is the general feeling re which make etc.
Not looking for loud but just smaller and lighter with a decent sound.
Do I need to get the engine mapped?
Do they affect fuel consumption etc?
Had a Scorpion on a 2011 XC a few years back but wasnt keen on all the popping etc on deceleration.
Stock can just a bit big and bulky but do not want to lose MPG or sound like an idiot with a farting bike that sounds like a teenager is riding it...

This is a difficult one to advise on. I've had an Arrow and a Scorpion exhaust, neither of which did it for me. I eventually bought a Fuel exhaust and I'm delighted with it. However it "pops" quite a lot on deceleration so may not tick all of your boxes.

It's very neat though and the quality is great - with a lifetime warranty for the original owner. I don't buy many things that are new - except underpants and socks - but I did with the Fuel exhaust and it's a quality bit of kit. It also fits with the Metal Mule balanced pannier frames, which are ridiculously expensive but make the bike look so much neater than the OEM luggage configuration.

I bought a Beowulf for my xrt,  sounds great, much lighter and at a really decent price.  :001:

I have a LeoVince on my 06 XRx. I did not need to remap and no popping. Great sound with the DB buster in.

Yes, I've heard good things about the Leo Vince, also they have a proper fixed metal bracket to attach to the bike (like the stock can does) whereas brands like the Fuel you attach with one of those circular metal bands with rubber inner sleeve that wraps around the exhaust, not keen on that arrangement.
