Been looking at a trip to Picos via the Plymouth/Santander ferry, never done this, it's looking like best part of a thousand squids with cabins & grub both ways for 2 riders & bikes. Sounds a lot but it cost us near 600/2 for the Hull/Rotterdam ferry this year. So s'pose not too bad given the distance. Just a pity we can't get a ferry from somewhere more civilised like Manchester or Liverpool. Ha

I think Brittany ferries was around 350 2 years ago, so that was a day to Portsmouth, a day and a bit on the boat and a day through Spain to Algeciras ( dont ask) to Morocco.
But in 2015 I went to Morocco via Malaga camping enroute, it took 6 days, some long to get through France. I cant honestly remember the exact cost, but there was nothing in it.  If you don't mind a gamble on the bay of Biscay ( mill pond both ways for me)    then I'd say enjoy the cruise, especially if you pick up a picnic before boarding to keep costs down.

I checked the Portsmouth crossing with aferry, 'tis 4 hours longer, price looks to be approx. 480 for one rider with bike. Approx 750/2. Inc basic inside cabin. + Grub approx 90/2 both ways. Won't let us enter 2 bikes. So mebbe 525 solo or 425 each sharing a cabin. I prefer outside cabins, higher up away from the drumming of the engines.

Bay of Biscay in poor weather would save money on food. Or maybe get to taste it twice. I've only experienced seasickness on the Heysham ferry, never on the Hull ferries.

I looked at Poole/Cherbourg then stopping off at Amboise & Sarlat non M'way. Half the fun is the planning.

Is that 420 each? Booked thro' agency or direct with Brittany ferries?

Brittany, I got 614 for 2 + 1 bike o/s cabin early June. I tried July/August 1280 for 2 + 2 bikes. Fekdat Ha

That is one way, via Brittany Ferries and is total price.
Actually I got 98 knocked off cos they cancelled my return ferry last year, so paid 320

Ok, sounds more like. Had me thinking I was cocking it up somehow. Do you return via a different route.

I'll likely end up going Italy again, I can see.
