I think some of you guys are confusing the compressor driven Sound Bomb with the standard OEM replacement horn the Sound Bomb Mini that the OP asked about.
The Mini as in my photo above is simply a direct replacement for the OEM horn and uses the same two spade terminal leads as the OEM horn.

try switching the wires on the soundbomb itself - mine came with a set of instructions which switched the polarity and caused the compressor to run in reverse (with the meep meep sound :-)

It's a Mini (not a compressor one) and it used to work.

FWIW, I mounted a Mini Sound Bomb up under the screen of my Madstad. (It doesn't fit in the std horn position under the beak)

Having said that (and the reason for my post)

What a waste of money... they said it was louder than standard ... back to the catalogs to buy a 12 volt horn that actually makes a 'here I am noise!'

I've yet to do the same job to the Tiger 800, but I did install twin FIAMM horns to the Street Triple:

IIRC, they cost about 18 for a pair.
They need a relay to drive them (included in the box):

Then wire them directly to the battery with an inline fuse.
And you need to locate them somewhere:

When everything is installed, they sound just like a good car horn, and gave my MoT tester a bit of a fright.
One day I'll get round to doing the same job on the Tiger - definitely worthwhile.

Maybe the Madstad is deadening the sound. Mine is way louder than stock with a much deeper note but it is out in the open.

Nah, its just a dud.
It sits out in the open and wouldn't scare a spider walking past.
To be honest I should have fitted it to the std wiring first and tested it, could have saved myself a few hours building a mount and extending the wiring.
