Dead Tiger
« on: October 09, 2019, 07:46:15 PM »
:003:  so, went to go for a ride today.  Got suited up and went out to Tigger.  Put the key in and NOTHING!   Stone cold dead!      I had to go, so I took the Goldwing.   Put the Tiger on battery tender when I left home.   Tiger had not been ridden for three weeks as I was out of town.  Was working perfectly before she was parked.   Any idea what could be going on?   Im hoping a dead battery, but if not, main breaker or?.   Any ideas appreciated.  Ill be home in a few hours to check if the Tender did anything.  Thanks!

Hello Oldbear,

My first thoughts would be as follows:

Dead battery, not holding charge.
Are there any accessories that are powered all the time, even when ignition is off?
Is the battery OK but not being charged by the alternator?
Is the regulator fried?
Blown Fuse?
Faulty ignition switch?

Hope it's a quick fix for you!

Well, got home and checked the battery.   Would you believe 10 volts?    Called dealer and they are going to replace under warranty.  Doesnt appear to be any parasitic draw, just a bum battery.   Gotta run down to Nashville tomorrow for my new free battery.  Oh well, good excuse to run the Wing a bit😏

Me too👍.   Rode the Wing down to the dealer and traded in my dead battery for a new one.  Rode home, installed, and all is good (once I figured out how to set the clock😏)
