Hello from Christchurch New Zealand!
« on: October 30, 2019, 02:29:20 AM »
Hi,
Technically I am not an owner yet but will be next week. Swapping my R6 for a Tiger. It will be much more suited to New Zealand riding.
So far I have only had a test ride but I already have a few basic questions around simple things like expected range.
Looking forward to having some adventures.
Thanks
Pete

:401: and there is a long and informative debate on this very issue you can trawl through to your hearts content. All varieties of Tiger 800 are represented by varied styles of rider, some frugal others less so... :169:

I would suggest on average expect 55mpg.

Hi Pete and welcome to the forum.
I think most get 200 plus miles from a tank.
You will find out soon enough as you will not be able to keep off it.

Hi and :401:

From a full tank, as said, expect 200 miles no problem with mixed throttle before any worries. If only local I happily go down to 1 block on the fuel guage but if out on a days riding I start looking for the next convenient petrol station when the low light comes on and gauge drops to 2 blocks. But I have pushed it beyond zero blocks showing before finding a fuel station.

My average, as below.  :028:

enjoy and have fun with your new baby,
big change from R6 to tiger  :028:
as concerning consumption i only get 200mi, as said only with careful right hand, but i like speaking with L/km which is usually  5,5L/100km or 5,5L/62,14mi, but in my country fuel are shitty

Welcome.
The mileage you get will be greatly affected by where you ride. Droning around the Canterbury plains and 320km per tank is pretty straight forward. Head up into the hills and increase the grin factor and your distance to empty will decrease.
Keep in mind that the low fuel light on a Tigers comes on with 100km to go in the tank so dont panic when you see tha light illuminate at 250km or thereabouts.

Hello, welcome to the club! I ride a 2019 xrx on New Zealand roads off motorway, and get an easy 300km/tank. I average 5.11 litres per 100km, in a variety of moderately energetic rides. So I could get maybe 350km, but I'd be sucking the seat up in those last few km's. The gauge reads near-empty at 300km.
