Frame painting
« on: November 17, 2019, 09:13:47 PM »
I am going to quickly repair my frame, which is for the moment amputated of the left passenger foot support.

The piece was lost so I bought it from a forum member

Once the soldering party finish, we will have to hide the misery and especially protect.

Where to find this specific black?

Thanks for the advice ...

While the fuel tank and bits have a colour name I'm not sure that Triumph name or give any information on their frame finishes. :027:

Without any specifics I suspect it is a needle in a haystack challenge. :157:

Frames are powder coated so there is no paint code. Because it's not paint.

Ok.

Dans ce cas, quel peinture pourrait ressembler ce noir poudreux, de facon que cela ne voit pas trop.

We have a local auto paint shop that can match & mix paint very good, they did a frame paint for me for my ST955 after the petrol connection recall was badly done by the dealer. You will have one similar paint shop local to yourselves.

The Xc 2012 has a Gray frame.

The Xcx of 2016 has a black frame, it is this one that I own.

Thank you for your answers.

I obtained a spray can from another forum member specifically for respraying crash bars. However it is also a good match for the black frame.

Manufacturer: Cromadex   www.cromadex.com   Paint No. YW359F Powder Match 222 fast air drying finish.

The downside, I think, is they will only supply multiple cans.

Hi sent cromedex an email asking if they could match a 2018 frame but they came back saying they didn't have a match, may have to go to my local Halfords to get the nearest colour

I am also going to see a body builder to see with his paint supplier to find an equivalent of this particular black frame color.
To be continued ...
