Do you use anything to condition the leather, Nikwax for example?

Nope, just proper leather gloves. Anyway, even if I did use wax, the lettering should not be printed it should be integral to the button. Indelible....
That's my point.

The lettering on my 2012 is still quite good and I use some leather conditioner on my leather gloves every now and then. So it is looking like a defect from the supplier.

AFAIR in the 4.5yrs I've been on the forum this is the 1st time I recall this issue coming up, hence I think you unfortunately have rare rogue switches that haven't been fully manufactured correctly. :084:
Also owned my 1979 Bonnie T140E from new!

We don't stop playing because we grow old .. WE GROW OLD BECAUSE WE STOP PLAYING!!!

My Tiger is a XR 2018 and so far the lettering are all good.
My mileage is about 8,000kms now.

OK, Thanks for that. I have just taken the bike to the dealers for a steering headrace bearing replacement on warranty, and I mentioned the letters rubbing off the cruise control and headlight buttons. Lets see what they say later on today. Meanwhile I have been looking at the new Ducati Multistrada 950 and the new BMW 900, with a view to maybe trading in my tiger  :027:
They gave me a Tiger 800 xca courtesy bike to ride for the day. It feels so different from my Tiger in a number of ways. My paranoid head is telling me that maybe I was sold a pup. My Tiger has lost the allure and the shinew from when I first had it :110:
